Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) Is an ancient holistic healing method that goes back thousands of years. According to Chinese medical theory, disease is caused by an imbalance in the body. The diagnosis or “pattern of disharmony” in the patient is determined by a special examination process. Healing is achieved by using a combination of the following four TCVM modalities:
- Acupuncture – The insertion of thin sterile needles into specific points on the body to cause a therapeutic effect and bring the body back to balance.
- Herbal Medicine – The combination of herbs specially formulated to treat particular disease patterns that are administered orally.
- Food Therapy – The use of diet to treat and prevent imbalance in the body.
- Tui na – This is Chinese medical massage to help promote balance in the body.
Acupuncture is very effective for pain management, promotes tissue healing ,is anti inflammatory, supports the immune system, and increases well being and quality of life.
Acupuncture and other TCVM modalities are extremely helpful for many disease conditions such as: Musculoskeletal problems, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal problems, asthma, skin problems as well as many behavioral issues.
Appointments can be arranged with Dr Glaser for your pet to be evaluated for Acupuncture and TCVM treatments.
